    What type of carb do I have- carter?

    I would like to buy a rebuild kit- for my cj- 3a 49. Not sure what type I have any wisdom?

    If it is original it should be a Carter WO. Take some up close pictures and post them.

    There are numbers on the Carb that specifically identify it. Clean it up and look for the numbers to be exact. I would say however, take some pictures and lets be sure it is an original WO. If it is the above kit will do the trick.

    Thanks my apologies- you should of said get up off your butt and look- which is what I did- you know it’s always easier to ask- so I opened my big mouth before I even looked- and of course you were on the money! Thx ole buddy

    Hey, don't apologize. We all have LBS (Lazy Butt Syndrome). But, by your asking, there is a note to everyone who looks that a '49 CJ 3 should have a Carter WO and the next guy won't have to ask.

    Exactly right. People asking questions like this one is how I found out my Solex carburetor isn’t original equipment along with many other things.
