    Flywheel removal

    Hello again,

The flywheel looks like it's going to be trouble. Can anyone help me with what is the best way to lock it down while I unbolt it? Also, I found a link in a previous flywheel forum topic from the manual, but it's no longer active. I prefer not to mess it up while pulling the flywheel.

The flywheel removal is fairly straight forward. To hold the flywheel put something between the starter teeth and the ring gear, or a flat bar between the block and a ring gear tooth. Anyway you can find to hold the gear. The easiest way is to use an impact gun if you have one. The attaching bolts are special and two of them are tapered, unless someone has converted it.
