To imagine that a vehicle that had a life expectancy of days to a few months in combat is still around to tell its story 80 years later is something to celebrate. Our Heep will turn 79 years old this year, and still going. I made a trip into town to fill the gas cans for the mowers and whatnot, and the lady at the gas station came out to take photos of the Heep in front of the pump. I told her that I'll bring 'er back in when it's all polished up. I guess she only sees mall crawlers at the pumps, so it caught her eye.
