    58 Wagon Fuel Tank Replace W\ Plastic or steel

    OK my fuel tank is rusted out a steel one is experience compared to plastic but will a plastic one devalue my Jeep ?

    unless it is in super concourse original as new show condition, i doubt that a different fuel tank will have much affect on the cars value.

    do you have any pics of the wagon.

    I have leaks in my tank , found them when I was cleaning up the tank , some kind of epoxy filler from existing repairs I guess....Im thinking a new metal tank unless the plastic is a better choice for durability ...

    I'm sticking with metal. I figure a welded repair if done right will last forever while plastic could be challenging. If you are just using as a daily driver and not doing too much off road it wont really make much difference which type of tank you get.

    I think I will keep the old tank and do some repairs....I like the way you keep me on track and focused....thanks again
