    Blower Motor Replacement

I am restoring my 1959 CJ6 and need to replace the heater blower motor. The original is a Delco 5044317 13.5v. Anyone have a source for a replacement? I have found several that that look similar but nothing for the 1959 CJ5/6. Thanks!

A tough one there Joey. A lot of older vehicles that get restored have to have some things "grafted in". I would see if a universal type motor can be adapted to your housing and fan.

As long as it is similar in size, either the same or close enough dimensionally that brackets can be modified any blower should work. Try to measure the old one and find something similar. Just be carefull that the new one doesn't hit the heater core. I don't think anyone lists blowers as being direct fit for jeeps as old as these.

My buddy's uncle recently acquired this CJ6 project and it might need a blower motor as well. It seems like replaced before as per his initial inspection. It also got a couple of leaks and needs a brake job. We're about done with the Wrangler project with the lift kit, bumper & winch, and jeep accessories & lights showed up in the mail and then we'll take the CJ6 in.
