    1949 station sedan w/6-148 engine

    Hi all.
New to all this blog stuff, and better at wrenching, than computers. Started working on my 1949 Station Sedan and just received a new Kaiser Willys Auto Supply catalog.

My engine is a Lightning 6-148 and I don't find any parts listed for that engine. Is this engine a dead issue or were not enough built to warrant wasting the print space in the catalog.

Welcome to the blog. From what I have been able to find out the 6-148 was a short lived engine. It was eventually bored out to a 161. Other than pistons, rings, etc. you should be able to use any 161 parts on your 148 or possibly bore yours out to a 161 and be able to use all 161 parts. I don't know if 161 parts are easier to find or not and all this may be a moot point but thought I would let you know what I know.
