New to site and new to Willys...............
I have always wanted one of these so bought this rough one at a farm auction then today I founds some parts and bought them so now I kinda have 2.

Can asnyone here decode the vin and tell me what year they are?

By the way the green ones vin is #55268 28314 and the blue one is #55268 51433

nice find, 2 trucks to fix now

from the list that i have it seems like you have

#1 = green
55268 = L6-226 4WD Truck Pickup
28314 = build number = mid 1956. ( build numbers for `56 were 22169 through to 33446.)


#2 = blue
55268 = L6-226 4WD Truck Pickup
51433 = build number = later 1959. ( build numbers for `59 were 45815 through to 53286).

the grill on the green one lines up with a 1956 model as well as thats the only year they had the horizontal grill bar at the top, it was in the center of the grill other years.
so they were both basicly the same truck so that will help you for interchanging parts.
