    Regular or Unleaded?

I just got a 1958 Willys Jeep pickup with the Super Hurricane engine. Is this engine supposed to run on leaded gasoline? If so, should I use a lead (alternative) additive?

Don't worry about the unleaded fuel...it won't hurt anything...I have seven older antique vehicles that run just fine on unleaded gas...leaded gas is illegal for sale in the US and Canada...I would say that if you were to put over 30,000 miles or so on your jeep annually, then maybe you might look into getting the valve seats replaced with hardened ones designed for unleaded gas...if you are just chugging around town or off road and don't put more than a few thousand miles annually, then just drive it...in 1958 leaded gas was everywhere...in 35 years of using unleaded gas in all of my vehicles that required leaded gas, I never had a single issue with engine related problems...with unleaded gas, spark plugs stay cleaner and last longer...enjoy your jeep.
