    65 cj5

    I have a 1965 cj5 with the 134 engine and I installed the new electronic ignition distributor # 923068 with the new coil and new plugs. I am having a problem with the jeep has no power I have double checked the timing. I put cylinder #1 top dead center and have the rotor pointing to cylinder #1 on the distributor. The jeep will run and idle fine but has not power! it will not go over 30 miles an hour. does anybody have any idea as to what I am doing wrong here?

    May or may not help. When I fitted my new electronic distributor I had to slightly raise the "conductor" on top if the rotor button. My spark was very weak and after i gently prised the conductor up my spark got quite strong and my CJ6 ran better for it.
