Oil Dipstick
I have a cj2a Flat head. I do not have a dipstick, I know how much to fill it from an oil change. But would like a way to know if I need to top it off. Does anyone know of an alternative dipstick that could be used?
Thanks

A heavy TIG welding rod or even a wire coat hangar may work. Just have to mark it somehow. Assuming you have the original cap, where did the dipstick break off at? I have seen that style repaired before.

When I got it there was no stick just the cap. That was my thought, do a oil change and fill it up a qt low mark it then fill it and add a second mark. I guess I was hoping for someone to say “go get X dipstick cut it to this length” etc. Thanks for the input though.

Would anyone on here with a dipstick still in tack be willing to measure the overall length as we as the fill markings from the end? So that I could have some kind of reference for my home made dipstick. Thanks in advance!

Quarter ton and military is a good source of NOS parts. I buy from them a lot.
