Any one know about this kind of 'oil filter'? The fellow I bought this '53 M38A1-CDN said all ya do is turn the toggle,and 'yur oil is clean'. Any info out there?
You turn the handle to swipe the sludge off the plates within the housing. When you change the engine oil, you disassemble the filter assembly, and clean the sludge out with solvent. Clean the plates with said solvent, then reassemble. You are to turn the handle one turn every 1,000 miles. Some turn the handle one turn every time they check the oil, because most do not put that many miles on their rigs.
