Had my cj3b for 30 years, fixing to redo it for the second time
Like I said I've had this old girl for a long time time to redo it put new seats in it I can't afford a new tub so I did some aluminum reinforcement on the floor panels. Here Is a couple of pictures.
Here's some pictures of the aluminum plating I did. I did it top and bottom in the worst of places. Covering the steel with rust encapsulating paint. After getting it all sealed up I think I'll squirt some of that expandable foam in the middle and keep the water and dirt out
I have a question about the type of foam you are going to use ... is it a closed cell foam that won't trap and hold water?
Once upon a time a long time ago we used a foam pad as a vibration snubber in a military radio. Someone didn't read specification MIL-TFD-41 (Make It Like - The Freakin' Drawing - 4ONcE) and procured an open cell foam pad that ended up acting like a sponge and causing a LOT of internal corrosion.
Both of them on the rear front or worn through the bronze bushings and through the first Leaf of the spring. That could have been ugly out on the road at highway speed. But I got it all fixed now everything it's 100% new. Hanger bolts Springs bushings shackles everything sweet.
