Has anyone built a Willys GB from new parts? If so, what is the cost and what are the challenges? Thanks! Mike

Welcome!
I assume that you are wanting to build a Willys Jeep entirely from new parts? It is very doable, with the amount of aftermarket suppliers out there. For a round-a-bout total, here are some sources;
https://www.dlbensinger.com/product_...340abdd7253f7b $7,750.00 Body tub and frame
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/new-4-c...4-134-l-engine $1,699.00 New engine (bare block)
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/new-wil...4-134-l-engine $429.99 Head/engine
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...gpw-cj-2a-6210 $849.99 complete engine build kit
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...4-transmission $1,499.99 (Core charge applies) Transmission
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...-transfer-case $1,395.00 ($250. Core charge) Transfer case
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...s-41-45-mb-gpw $649.99 suspension kit
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...-serial-215649 $549.99 Brake kit complete
https://www.kaiserwillys.com/categor...s-41-45-mb-gpw $325.99 Wiring harness complete
The total to what is covered above is $14,823.95
This is just the short list of big parts and component kits, with the exception of the front and rear differentials (axles). There will be a lot of small items that will add up the costs as well.
This is a interesting concept. like GM said you would have many additional costs. How would you title it? How would you insure it? You would have to get a frame with a good vin number. That would be difficult.

Most states recognize kit cars now a days, and have a path to making them street legal. The best option would to find a chassis with a serial number, and (depending on the state) a matching title. Dynacorn has been producing kits for creating your very own '69 Camaro, and '67 Mustangs. The cars require a title from a donor car for license and insurance purposes.
