Compliments should be directed to gmwillys, who provided the info leading to my purchase. I love replacement parts that fit and function same as the originals they're replacing, and this is one of them!

Thank you to all involved in finding this replacement glove box button. I just ordered one. The one on my CJ5 has been missing since about 1976 or maybe even before that. My Dad simply epoxied the hole closed and it's been that way since then. I suppose it gave the vehicle some character, but I'd just as soon have a functioning door latch.

Thank you guys for the info. I was struggling to find latches a while back. Ended up just using a thin disk magnet for the time being. I'll have to get a real latch sometime.

Misses Google (she knows almost everything) is a powerful tool when it comes to finding obscure information on parts. I'm glad it panned out to the good.

Alternator died on me over the weekend! I bought a GM alt coupe years ago and still have it + the new pulley required to use the original belt. Things I don't have are a wiring diagram or any info on brackets. Can the original engine brackets work with GM alt?

A few words about alternators:
https://willysjeepforum.kaiserwillys...n-The-Easy-Way
Since you already had an alternator, it should be no more than a 2-wire job. (Busted knuckles don't count)
A. Big wire goes to big threaded terminal on alternator
B. If you have an idiot light - one more wire to alternator connector. If you have an ammeter - you are probably done.

First thing, the jeep looks great out in the snow. I was just out today with mine cruising through over a foot of snow in 2 wheel drive, they really are good little machines!
For your alternator, going one-wire is super nice. Andbits a common gm part that you can get at any autoparts store if you're ever stranded. Here's a link to the kit I bought for my cj5. https://jeep1942.com/?page_id=9748
The link is for a complete setup (iknow you already have an alternator) I can't seem to find just the bracket right now. But he does offer the bracket by itself. I believe is around $80. It's a very clean, simple install, and has worked well for me for about 2 years now. I think it was one of my first posts on my thread. There's other brackets out there, or you could fabricate your own.

Wiring skills are without doubt the weakest area of my automotive knowledge! Online research seemed to indicate the signal wire needs a one way diode??? So, I ended up ordering a pre-made wiring harness that includes a "one way diode". Hoping the original alternator brackets can be utilized for mounting the GM alt.
